Simon Bolwell

What is your role on the governing body?
I am on the standards committee and am one of the nominated governors for the vocational studies department.

Tell us a bit about your background
I am a community governor and the schools police officer. I have been in the Academy for the past 9 years and work within the environment of the Every Child Matters Department.
I am also a major in the Territorial Army and I command a unit of 120 soldiers and officers.

Why is being on the governing body important to you?
I have a huge desire to make a difference to the academy and wider community. I want to be a part of helping it develop and grow, and ultimately succeed in its journey.

What do you believe to be the key to success?
Keeping to a strong set of values and standards is really important in anything you do.
